Formation of ALF and Its Claims
On November 30, 2024, several Tuareg separatist groups announced the creation of the Azawad Liberation Front. This coalition, based in Tinzaouatene near the Algerian border, aims to achieve total independence for Azawad, the territory claimed by the Tuaregs in northern Mali.
The ALF presents itself as a political-military entity carrying the aspirations of the Azawad people for self-determination. The coalition has adopted a new flag, symbolizing its distinct identity and separatist ambitions.
