The terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack at a festival in the German city of Solingen, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to eight others. According to Reuters, the attack involved a knife assault in western Germany.
On Saturday, German police announced the arrest of a suspect during their search for the unidentified attacker involved in the incident. The attack occurred around 9:40 PM on Friday when a man attacked several people with a knife. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
The police reported that the victims included a 67-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman, with eight others injured, four of whom are in critical condition.In a statement released through its Amaq news agency, ISIS described the assailant as a "soldier of the caliphate" and claimed the attack was executed in retaliation for Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere.
However, the group has not provided any evidence linking the attacker to its organization, and the connection between the assailant and ISIS remains uncertain. German officials have indicated that the stabbing incident at the festival is being treated as a potential act of terrorism
